Effective date: 9 September 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to the OpenMico website and your use of the OpenMico desktop application. By using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or software.
1. The OpenMico project
OpenMico is proprietary worship presentation software. References to “OpenMico,” “we,” or “us” mean the owners of the software, identified through the official contact channels on this website.
2. Software licence
[PLACEHOLDER — REQUIRES LEGAL REVIEW BEFORE LAUNCH.] The wording below states the intended position in plain terms. It has not been drafted or reviewed by a lawyer and should be replaced with a licence grant your counsel approves.
OpenMico is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the application for worship presentation, on the number of computers permitted by your plan. You may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, rent, resell, sublicense or redistribute the software except where that restriction is prohibited by law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
3. Content is licensed separately
Bible translations, song lyrics, fonts, images, videos, presentations and other material used with OpenMico may be protected by copyright or other rights. They are not covered by your licence to the software. You are responsible for obtaining any permission, licence or reporting arrangement required for content you import, display, stream or distribute.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to use OpenMico lawfully, review content before it is shown publicly, secure the computer and network on which it runs, and configure outputs and third-party services carefully. You must not use the website to interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, or infringe another person’s rights.
5. Voice, AI and external services
Voice recognition and AI-assisted functions are optional. Depending on your configuration, audio or text may be processed locally or sent to a third-party provider you select. The provider’s terms, privacy policy, availability and fees apply. Always verify detected references and generated or imported content before taking it live.
6. Downloads, updates and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue website content, builds or features. Installer availability can vary by operating system and architecture. You are responsible for checking compatibility, keeping appropriate backups and testing updates before a live event.
7. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and software are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenMico’s maintainers and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, loss of data, loss of revenue, service disruption, or content shown in error arising from use of the website or software. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains limited only to the extent the law permits.
9. Third-party links
Links to documentation, source hosting, payment providers or other websites are supplied for convenience. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or practices.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the project, services or law. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page. For copyright and Bible translation information, see Copyright & licensing.
